Protect Galloway Neighborhoods from Rezoning!

16 Signatures Goal: 100

Petition to Protect the Galloway Area! * The owner of 3830 S Lone Pine Ave (three leased spaces in attached building) is requesting that area be rezoned from Limited Business District to General Retail. Limited Business is intended to protect the neighboring residential areas and restricts the types of businesses allowed in the area. *General Retail allows many types of businesses that may be undesirable to nearby neighbors. These include tattoo parlors, video game arcades, dance halls, laundry mat, pawn shops, package liquor, tobacco and pipe, and video rental stores. *The spaces leased at these locations have had a high turnover rate on their leases. Although the current tenants may have acceptable businesses, changing the zoning would allow for undesirable businesses in the future. *It is imperative that the residents in nearby neighborhoods and those that enjoy the Galloway area express their opposition to this change in zoning. This issue is going to be decided upon quickly, so we need to respond quickly. The first hearing at City Council will be April 30th, and the second hearing will be May 18th. The decision will be made on June 1st. You do not need to live in the Galloway area to sign this petition *Make it known that you are in opposition of the proposed zoning change at 3830 S Lone Pine Ave Springfield, MO 65804.
