Name: William Thornton on May 5, 2012Comments: The City of Dallas and its Parks Dept have evidently limited their focus on Winfrey Point to the exclusion of other area possibilities for special event parking. Preservation and Protection of Winfrey Point and related Dallas Parks Dept. historical landmark properties has never been more important than now. Also, significant taxpayer moneys have been spent on this limited vision project which is not beneficial to the city as a whole.Flag

Name: Clara Blair on May 5, 2012Comments: Prairies and grasslands are recognized as among the most at risk habitats worldwide. Blackland prairies are rarest of the rareā¦less than 0.5% remain. Grassland bird species are in decline due to loss of these habitats; disturbance at this time of year is particularly damaging as nests (& potentially eggs and/or young) of these ground-nesting birds would be destroyed. Prairie, not parking.Flag

Name: Jeanne C. Sanders on May 5, 2012Comments: Records show a year or more of planning has gone into this project. To wait until one week before a major exhibit at the Arboreatum for the plans to go public suggests an attempt to bully homeowners in the area into accepting the proposed plans without any input. Shameful. This should have been open for debate & mediation from the beginning.Flag

Name: G Wilson on May 5, 2012Comments: Why don't they use other parking facilities. It the empty large tracs of land where the apartments were torn down off Skillman? Parking cars at on the park grounds ia about as smart as yard darts. Way to go city leaders!Flag

Name: Cynthia Fava on May 5, 2012Comments: If more parking is needed, build a multi-level parking garage on an already existing concrete parking lot. Leave the grassland (what little there is of it) for the birds and wildlife. Shame on the city of Dallas for not protecting the nature elements that the people come to see. Another option, don't allow cars on the property and make people ride DART or move them from an off-site parking location.Flag
