| 201 | Philippa Reed | I feel the debate must be prioritised now, since the human trafficking situation in particular is a pressing issue today. I would urge the goverment to follow the laws enforced in Sweden, as this would be a positive step forward in the protection of women, and provoke society in to viewing the wider implications of prostitution in a more evolved way. |

| 203 | Anonymous | Prostitution is the worst form of oppression there is. There seems to be the idea that so long as it's paid for it's ok to abuse and rape. Well it's still abuse and rape and for most of the women involved it's a continuation of childhood trauma of one kind or another. It's time it was stopped and the women involved given the help they need to move on with their lives and realise some self esteem. Prosecution and imprisonment of their abuser 'clients' and their 'pimp' owners should be the law and should be enforced. I would be grateful for all you can do to bring this about. Thank you. |
| 204 | Mary Macpherson | Prostitution and trafficking is violence against women. We should adopt theSwedish model and do all we can to stop this abuse. |
| 205 | Shirley Lawrie | Prostitution is the abuse of women and those demanding it should be brought before the law.
Women who are prostitutes should be given help to find another way to earn their living, and help with any addiction problems. |
| 206 | Anonymous | It used to be thought that slavery was 'natural' and would always be around. That notion was rightly challenged, and slavery was abolished in this country. Why should 'the oldest abuse of women' be any different? |

| 210 | jemma piggins | we need to be proactive about adressing this problem and a reform of the legislation around prostitution can only be positive if we are to start tackling other social/criminal activities linked to the sex industy such as drug abuse, violence against women etc. |

| 212 | Carol Gilles | Most prostitutes have no choice; all punters have the choice. Most prostitutes are women; most punters are men - coincidence???? |

| 215 | Anber Raz | Prostitution is violence against women. Unless the issue of demand is addressed women and girls will continue to be abused. Please do something to stop it. |
| 216 | Tamsin Wright | The majority of women involved in prostitution have no choice, for them i sign this petition.
Educate our young people on why men and women are becoming involved in prostitution and the violence ( emotional, psycholocical and physical) that they face daily and maybe they will think before buying porn magazines, buying street sex when drunk, going to Amsterdam on stag/lads week ends, abusing women girls and boys while "on business" abroad.
Even better show the channel 4 documentry "hardcore" at parents meetings at every UK school so that adults get the message too. |

| 227 | Anonymous | Sex trafficking is vile and if men are 'paying' for sex with coerced women they are rapists and if the women were not coerced (i.e. are just the more usual victims of child sex abuse and other traumas) then the men are creeps. Buying sex should be as illegal as buying human organs for translplant and for the same reason. |
| 228 | lindsey brown | i feel it is a discrace how children are not protected enough by current laws. they are forced to become prostitutes at such young ages, it is discusting. WHAT IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD????????????? |

| 232 | Andrew Kerr | Demand creates supply, criminalise the demand and the lives of thousands of women will be changed forever. The same should apply to the porn industry, which is equally degrading to women. |

| 239 | danny cole | I think you people are very naive and slightly stupid. The paragraph entitled "Why does this approach work?" is my main reason for my opinion of you. What you're proposing is ridiculous. You're not living in the real world. I suggest you try and give up your addiction to beaurocracy and stop trying to enforce your beliefs on others. There are many ways to change human behavior, your ideas are not good ones. I would love to know how the crime rate would be affected by the introduction of all these new "broke divorced husbands" you're proposing creating. |

| 246 | Lynne | I 200% support this law
I agree that the vast majority of women find themselves entering into postitution through no fault of their own. However, the situation in my area is that we have 2 occupants of a house nearby 3 schools. Who have been running a house of ill repute for some 2 and a half years. The customers to the home park outside other properites, although there is enough space to park outside or on the drive of the house of ill repute. The annoying part about all of this, one of the residents actually confronted one of the occupants of the house and was told two days later by the person in question, that he and his "worker" have been told by their solicitor that they are not breaking the law in carrying out a business of that nature from their home.
This I find to be totally unfounded, as since I have done my research and discovered as first suspected, that if someone within the area complains or if said business is run from a home, is not licensed or near schools then they are breaking the law.
I have been taking details down of number plates etc, however, why should I. Sadly, the couple in question have no regard or respect for those who live nearby and they truly feel, by their actions they have every right to continue to do what they are doing. I just don't know what to do to where to go.
I am basically alone in this even though others in the community are not happy about this matter.
This week they have been extremely busy ...................... I really dont know what to think anymore |
