The Prospect City Council proposes in its Prospect Masterplans for a section of bicycle lanes on Prospect Road be removed and the carriageway narrowed. We believe this would be a retrograde step for cycling safety. In A Cycling Strategy, strategy 2.1 includes to: include in all new urban road projects or road upgrades; safe, direct and attractive cycling facilities.

The petition 'Keep Bicycle Lanes' will be presented on Wednesday
11-Aug-2010 at 12.30pm on Parliament House steps. Politicians and
media are invited, so we need a crowd. Show your concern when plans
for any arterial road include removing bicycle lanes, and/or
narrowing the road until cyclists overtaken by less than one metre by
large vehicles. Discourage this from happening anywhere in SA.
