The State of New York and MTA/MNRR have neglected to repair the 270-foot-long, through-truss bridge on Prospect Hill Road for YEARS. They claim to have insufficient funds to complete the job when similar jobs throughout the state are completed without haste. Local traffic congestion would be diverted by a large amount on Route 312 and also give FireFighters direct access to tax paying Town of Southeast residents. They now have a 7-10 minute drive from the Brewster Fire Station which would take them roughly 4 minutes. That's a big difference in saving the lives of others. Our local and state representatives need to join forces with the MTA/MNRR and open this vital road once again.
