As Drum Corps International has already allowed electronic simulations of woodwind and other sounds and has recently approved the use of certain brass instruments to be used on the field that are not traditionally seen in drum corps, this petition urges Drum Corps International to change their organizational name to reflect how they have changed the activity, to "Marching Band International". Since there is now essentially no difference between a high school or college marching band and one of DCI's own corps (with the exception that woodwind sounds must still be simulated), it it only fitting the organization change its name to reflect that so to avoid further confusion as to what a "drum corps" is and what a "marching band" is.
