We, the undersigned citizens,residents, and taxpayers of Cook County, Illinois, do, hereby, petition for relief, readjustments, and refund of assessed taxes, that do not reflect the current value of assessed properties in Cook County, Illinois. We are petitioning to prevent foreclosures, chaos, boarded up properties, and other events, such as crime, homelessness, and poverty, that will result from the assessment, and payment, of unaffordable property taxes. We, therefore, petition the Illinois Senate, the General Assembly, the Cook County Board of Commissioners, the Cook County Assessor, the Cook County Board of Review, the Cook County Clerk, the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Cook County Recorder of Deeds, the Cook County Treasurer, the Property Tax Appeals Board, and the Circuit Court of Cook County, for such adjustments and relief.
