Fellow citizens in Ithaca, New York are being threatened by City Officials to have their property rights taken away by Eminent Domain for the purpose of building a recreational trail through their land and businesses. We as tax paying citizens believe that: The Strongest component of freedom is the basic right to own property without the threat of the government taking that property. Eminent Domain should not be allowed to be used to take private land for the purpose of public recreation. The Cayuga Waterfront Trail (Phase 2)as proposed provides little or no benefit to public transportation.
