This is a petition to do away with prom forever! There is no good that comes out of this "act" anymore. Back in the old days, the gathering known as "prom" meant something. Your parents probably went to prom together, or met each other at the dance. But now, it is just a big underage drinking fest. I'm not saying that everyone does it, but lets be honest. 85% of American teenagers, use prom as an excuse for drinking alcohol and having underage sex. On nights that "prom" is held, how many people acctually go to the prom These students buy the tickets, go there to have there picture taken just to prove they were there, and then head on over to the house party. Another thing that "prom" gathers love to do is go and eat at a restaurant. This is an ok thing when it is a couple on a date. Two people having a nice quite dinner, and then on to some dancing is in my book, a great date. But a group of 8 to god knows how many, rude and uneducated teenagers is unacceptable. Reason number one. If you can't afford to tip the person who has to run and get you 28 refills on your coke, and who has to put up with you pretending that you are the baddest thing to ever walk the face of this earth, THEN DON'T BOTHER GOING OUT TO EAT AT A NICE RESTAURANT!!!! I will let everybody in on a little secret. 95% of everyone who works in the service industry, hates those kids. Reason number two. These kids keep the people who actually spend money at home. That's right, 60% of Americans will not visit a restaurant during the season of "prom" because of the long wait times these kids create in the restaurant industry. Which brings me to reason number three. The social gathering known as "prom" is meant to usher you into adulthood, SO WHY DO YOU ORDER FROM THE KIDS MENU!!!!! If you don't want to spend money on food and save it for beer and condoms, than the drive-thru will work just fine. I don't think your date will mind any. She probably looks at you funny when you order Chicken Tenders at a nice, fancy restaurant anyway. I think that if we can get enough signatures, maybe we can keep Americas youth safe and out of our restaurants forever!!!! Thank you, and good day.
