Give Sonal Shah's Job To A Progressive Woman

257 Signatures Goal: 500

As a South Asian American or someone interested in progressive issues in the United States, India, and the world, we have a strong objections to the role of Sonal Shah in the Obama Administration. Sonal Shah is on record for having been a member of, fundraised for, and associated with various organizations that have promoted intolerance, hatred, racism, and violence in India like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America, Inc. (VHP-A). This organization is tied to the VHP in India, and so linked to the 2002 riots in Gujarat which Human Rights Watch has documented resulted in massive violence against Muslims, women, and other disempowered groups in India. When there are so many great progressive women of color out there who have done amazing work in the South Asian American commmunity or India or other places, why choose someone with this record Please pick a progressive woman of color instead of Sonal Shah for the Obama transition and administration!
