This petition was started as an answer to the recent departure of Keith Olbermann from MSNBC. He was and is a highly respected progressive voice who is now without a platform - but why?
Many have slammed him for losing the "ratings race" with the likes of Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck (both from FOX News) - but many either forget or choose to ignore that Comcast moved MSNBC from "basic cable" to a more extensive package - making it only available to those who pay for the extended cable option.
For those of you who enjoy fairness in news, or for those who agree that competition creates greatness - Please sign this petition and put MSNBC back to the basic channel selection (with FOX) or move FOX to the higher selection.
People have the right to watch what they want, but if powerful corporations own the information - they can bend it how they want. If nothing else, let this highlight the unfairness and bias of Comcast. They have monopolized cable, and have had never answered for why they changed their channels.
