Name: Sharon Hale on Dec 4, 2008Comments: Origin of all food product content should be listed on packaging, and the country where processing and/or packaging takes place should be listed separately. That would give clarity and information to the consumer to allow us to make an informed decision about the food we buy and consume. The term Product of Canada should be reserved strictly for foods grown or harvested in this country ONLY! The current labeling practise and the changes proposed for December 31st are inadequate, and strongly suggest the interests and profits of grocery retailers are more important than the safety and interests of the Canadian consumer.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 7, 2008Comments: 1) I support knowing before purchasing food where the food we eat comes from. 2) Please ensure that the food made available to us is safe in accordance to the Canadian food laws regardless of where the food comes from and is processed/packaged in. We trust that our safety as well as yours is paramount.Flag

Name: Ryan Dykstra on Dec 8, 2008Comments: obviously we want to know where our food has been produced and processed. the melamine cases coming out of China, dioxins in meats in Europe and man made hormones in milk products coming from the US. As a consumer I want to know, we have led astray to often in the past when the leaders in the communities and the countries told their citicens "TRUST US, WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING". That statement has led the way to many a law suit and more serious conflict. Trust needs to be earned, openess and clarity helps.Flag
