| 51 | Shiu | Hung | CA | | Eva Georgia is doing a great job of helping to re-establishing radical public affairs programming at KPFK, one of Pacifica Network's valuable asset and a voice of the community. Her past, regardless of whether the accusations of any past management misdeeds, must go through a proper judicial proceeding to flesh out the facts. I strongly oppose her being fired or being threatened into quitting. Please, do the ethical thing and drop the unfair demands and take the leadership to expose the truth concerning the allegations.
Thank you,
Shiu M. Hung |
| 52 | Rayni | Joan | CA | | Why can't people just get along? |
| 53 | Joanne | Shannon | CA | US | The concern that the General Manager will be unjustly blamed for a negative environment created by interested parties is definitely a valid one. I was put in a very similar position at one time in my teaching career. It did not matter whether I was exonerated or not. A blemished, unwarranted perception of me continued to remain for years. Let us not do this to Eva.
I am not interested in the color on the other side of that microphone. I am only interested in the programming. If I feel the programming does not meet my needs, I have the provilege of voicing my concerns to the Manager.
LET HER DO HER JOB!!!

| 65 | Fernando | Velazquez | CA | US | In over 25 years of experience with Pacifica Radio KPFK in Los Angeles I've seen similar attacks against General Managers who attempted to make changes in programming.
The attacks against Georgia have recieved the most media coverage, perhaps due to the use of internet by Pacifica activists. That does not mean the others we not as virulent and as insidious, specially to those who tried to include people of color.
During the early 1980's, the expansion of Spanish Language programming had as a response a series of bomb threats.
As you can see, this is business as usual in the land of the free, home of the brave. |

| 72 | Geri | Kenyon | CA | US | I have noted with great interest and vigorous approval the changes we are seeing at KPFK. I strongly support the current station manager, and I believe that we absolutely must support her and let her fulfill her mission. KPFK badly needed to open up its programming to all these unheard voices. I have heard very positive things from new listeners to whom I have passed along recommendations to listen to KPFK. The diversity is what they note most of all. Let us hope we can achieve some level of peace and reconciliation, finally. |

| 82 | Bernie | Eisenberg | CA | US | |
| 83 | Paula | Trzicky | CA | US | |
| 84 | Mark | Bilk | CA | US | The smear campaign against Eva Georgia is intended to
have the same effect as the hijacking of the PNB --
to prevent the broadcasting of uncensored information
critical of the ultra-wealthy oligarchy that controls
the U.S. economy, government, and media, and profits
from exploitation and war. The smear campaign began
with a wealthy real estate developer in South Africa,
Omar Dollie, and has been continued by people around
KPFK who are on record as attacking courageous
truthtellers like Mike Ruppert, and supporting
oligarchy mouthpieces like Ian Masters. Eva Georgia
must be allowed to make KPFK free to broadcast the
most profound and important facts, no matter how
disturbing, such as that the Bush junta insured that
the 9-11 attacks would succeed, by countermanding the
normal immediate launching of jet interceptors. The
two main ringleaders of the smear campaign against Eva
-- Sonali Kolhatkar and Frank Schweitzer -- have
(respectively) attacked Ruppert on the air, and
supported Ian Masters and mainstream political
programming. After the staff was poisoned against Eva
by the false accusations from South Africa, these
people, and others self-interested in keeping or
getting staff jobs, ran a huge lying smear campaign
against Eva that is still going on, making sure that
her environment would be hostile and would provoke
defensive reactions from her. They then cite these
reactions as "proof" that she's a hostile person.
Held captive by the Schubb/Cooper gang, KPFK has been
a mouthpiece for the CIA and the oligarchy since 1994.
They are fighting very hard to oust Eva and reclaim
what they regard as their property, so they can prevent
accurate, uncensored news and analysis from reaching
the huge population served by KPFK. Please don't let
them succeed! Keep Eva Georgia as manager of KPFK! |

| 87 | Peter | Kar | CA | US | Dear Carl,
I would like to thank you and other members of the Committe on Truth
and Reconciliation for proposing the petition. Although I am not
closely following the goings on of the inner circles of the station,
but judging from what goes on the air I can say that the current
status of the station is very disapointing. Disappointing because
one
year after the passing of old regime and while we are at the verge of
an all out war, not much is done to improve the quality and quantity
of programming that is aired everyday. I, personally, found myself
switching to NPR after the morning programs are over for it seems the
rest of the time is filled with either music or spirituality and
religious shows. I had heard rumors that Eva Georgia had it
difficult
to overcome the resistance of those who don't mind changing the
station to the voice of a passive bunch of liberal democrats. Your
petition seems to be an effort in taking the initiative to face the
hidden issues head on and in a transparent manner - a scarce trait
even amongst the pacifist community. I applaud you and members of
the
committee for your vision and courage and thank you for proposing the
petition. |

| 89 | Nelida | Contreras | CA | US | I recently became aware of the dynamic and diverse new sound of KPFK and am now a proud listener. I make it a point to recommend KPFK to me peers. I would be greatly disappointed if the station programming schedule were to change in any dramatic way. I have been a commited listener for about a year now and support Eva Georgia in her efforts of integrating the station's new beats and world-wide news casts and live discussions on provacative current issues, local, national, and global. Thank you in advance for accepting my petition in the case of Eva Georgia.
Sincerly, Nelida Contreas

| 98 | SILVIA | HERNANDEZ | CA | US | I support Eva Georgia because for the very first time someone realizes that the programing in KPFK doesn't reflect the reality of the multicultural population in Southern California |
| 99 | Brian | Salter | CA | US | eva georgia's support for a wide range of programming and support for alternative views on 9/11 is commendable. |
| 100 | Lawrence | Chin | CA | US | The issue is not "gender or racial diversity". It is broadcast content, censorship and infiltration. It is whether the listening public has access to views that are counter to consensus media (including "progressive" media) in a time of international crisis and criminal war. It is whether Pacifica is a voice of true dissent, or merely another undermined and timid defender of the elite status quo. Eva Georgia has been a staunch defender of Pacifica's responsibility to inform and educate. Her opponents, who seek to silence truth, should be offered no intellectual sanctuary. |
