My 1st Private visit to a Professor,was 3 yrs ago last July,when I had for no reason,an excruciating Choking Painin my throat after drinking from a Bottle of a well known Mineral Water Company.
I have been to 13 Private visits in Yorkshire and the Length andbreadth of Italy, each visit costing from 250 euro.. Only the 13th Professor knew exactly what was the cause, I saw a TV Medicalprogramwhere he wasdescribing exactly the type of Pain I was suffering from,,almost continually for over 3 yrs..
I had been given many types of expensive Pills & Potions,hadEx-ray's,,tubes down my nose into my throat, and stomach,4 M.R.I Scans on my head,and 7 injections direct into the painful point in my neck,through to my Throat, all the Professors,and Specialist's were told,that the Pain was ALWAYS in exactly the same place in my Throat, I could cover the point with the tip of my finger.,nothing worked,or even helped. I tried 2 sessions ofAcupuncture costing 90 euro each.,nothing helped,because all theseProfessional People,didn't have a clue,as to what was wrong with me..But the worst part of all these visits was, they never bothered to go any further,either ,,afterwards,when I was in exactly the same Painful State to be interested enough in my case,to try and go any further with my problem.. They took there Cash,and as far as they were concerned,it ended there.
After seeing this Professor on TV,I telephoned a Clinic in Rome,where he visited once a month,and got an appointment within a week,costing 250 euro. He took about 15 mins to talk to me about my type of Pain,and within 10 day's I was given a private operation,costing 6,500 euro. I had to Fly down to Sicily to the Professors Hospital,,,travel by bus another 100 Kilometers ,and a taxi to the Hospital. All at a cost of another 600 euro,there & back.
The Professor who did the Major Surgery,was Brilliant,I thank God that I was watching that TV Medical Program at that certain minute,on the day that he was on TV.,it's a 10 minute program.showing 3 different types of illnesses.
It turned out to be a Scull opening operation,where 2 veins were wrapped around 2 Glossofaringeo Nerves,thuscausingmy excruciating Pain,that I had suffered for over 3 years.. My stay in Hospital was 32 weeks,and then had to travel all the way back home.
I hadphotographstaken of my Head wound,with 12 externalstitchesclearly showing,and came home with a Discharge letter,describingmy operation,which I e-mailed to some of the earlier Professors & Specialists.that hadPrivatelyvisited me.. I have never even had a Thank you reply for letting them know,what they wereincapableof discovering. They included NeuroSurgeons,,Throat Specialists and Pain Consultants.
Thank the Lord that I'm finally cured,and have my 1st Check-up Control in Rome on 12th December 2013,next Thursday,again costing 250euro
Please,take note,all this could have been avoided,if the British National Health System worked,,and that they had cared about me when Ifirstwent almost screaming to them in an A&E. where they gave my Throat anEx ray,and because nothing showed up,they gave me a Prescription for some Gaverston, Medicine, to ease what theydescribedto be Heartburn..
I thank anyone reading my letter,and am pleased to be able to tell you,that,through MYpersistence,I finally got there,it was sheer HELL.and damned expensive.
