Puppy Mills are illegal facilities used to unlawfully breed dogs to fulfill the owner's own needs. Puppy Mill dogs often are found with: -Hernias (Overbreeding, Unsantation) -Genetic Mutations/Disorders (Breeding within families, overbreeding -Missing Limbs (Forced to chew leg off to avoid being trapped in the wire caging) -Matted Fur (No regular cleaning/maintenance) -Severed vocal cords (Mill workers will thrust metal pipes into newborn puppies throats to avoid noise- this process is known as debarking) -Fear of other dogs/humans (abuse from both parties can leave dogs mentally crippled for years) -Malnutrition/Dehydration (If lucky, dogs will be fed one meal every three days) -Frostbite/Heat Blisters (The bare wire cages offer no protection from the elements and can get unbearably hot or cold) -Unfertile repreductive organs (overbreeding and genetic disorders) Even worse, these puppies are sent to commercial pet stores and sold to families...
