Name: Tom Foristel on Nov 8, 2012Comments: I am strongly in support of the petition to support the construction of two new platform tennis courts at Coveleigh as soon as possible. Based on the increased demand for court time to support team, social, and general membership play, it is imperative that we add two new courts, not one. I am also fully aligned with the position that two new courts take priority over one court and a new paddle hut/facility. Two new courts will enable us to significantly increase member participation and will, hopefully, support the need for a new paddle facility in the future.Flag

Name: Don Svoboda Sr. on Nov 9, 2012Comments: Aside from being refurbished (Wood to Aluminum); these are the same 2 courts as when I joined in 1971. Over the 40 years, the growth in Player membership requires expansion of the Paddle Courts. We are playing 2nd fiddle to competing Clubs.Flag

Name: Michael Temple on Nov 9, 2012Comments: I would also like to point out to the club officials that paddle is the only outdoor activity from Nov-March. What a great drawing card to bring more members to the club during the offseason. Our swimming pool can accomodate 50-100 swimmers at a time...Our tennis facilities can host up to 48 people (12 x 4 per court) at a time...Lawn bowling can accomodate 6 lanes with 4 to a lane for 24 at a time...Current paddle conditions can accomodate 8 at one time...Pretty simple math.Flag

Name: Bruce & Susan Mackle on Nov 9, 2012Comments: This should be a top priority as it is a relatively inexpensive (versus other capital projects) upgrade for the club and is an easy 'win' to satisfy the needs of a large contingent of Coveleigh members. Upgrading our platform tennis facility by adding additional courts is not only important for current member satisfaction and retention (paddle is played by an ever-increasing portion of the membership), it is critical if Coveleigh wants to compete for new members with the surrounding clubs given the popularity of the sport.Flag
