Sub: Regarding the dismissal of Mr. Gomez, Forest Park Elementary School Principal 2011-2012.
Dear Dr. Morris,
It was sad to learn last week that our principal for 2011-2012, Mr. Gomez has been let go.
Mr. Gomez has been a very positive impact to our children this year. His fresh ideas and great enthusiasm to implement them has really benefited our school this year.
Mr. Gomez has worked very hard towards involving our community into our school’s needs. This year Forest Park PTA has worked closely with the school and Mr. Gomez to provide all the required support they needed to impart a great experience to our children at school.
Several programs that enhance our children’s abilities have been leveraged under Mr. Gomez’s leadership. Parents from our community have volunteered their hours to our school and it’s children and all those hours were put in the right direction under Mr. Gomez.
Not to say the least, we have seen Mr. Gomez work relentlessly. We have seen him on campus and available for supporting after school programs, till night on weekdays and have seen him available on campus on weekends.
For all our PTA programs, that happened on weekends/late on weekdays Mr. Gomez was always available to guide and help us.
Mr. Gomez has had such a profound impact on our children, school and community in just an year. It is very unfortunate that we won’t have Mr. Gomez impart his leadership to our children.
Please also note that in the past 5 year Forest Park has had 4 principals. We as parents feel this is not enough time for any principal to develop a relationship with our kids and community.
