Thanks to everyone who attended last night. I believe we received some important information around the rezoning activities and the timeframes around the moratorium-- some of which is much different than previously conveyed by members of the town council. I was also glad to hear the presentation from the mine co., although discouraged that they did not feel they needed to reach out to anyone outside that 1.5 mile radius from 1005th St. Obviously the effects are futher reaching than that smaller group. I also think, personally, that the demographic they spoke with are those most likely to lease their farm land.
I would like to see if anyone is interested in making a day trip to whichever city has a mine most similar to this proposal to see and hear for our selves. There are a number of residents in Maiden Rock, Red Wing and Menomenee that say they heard the same presentation we heard and once the mine was established, the mine was able to...
