Without fail from 8-9am and 5-6pm large numbers of drivers ignore the access only signs on Rectory Lane and Kirk Road, Preston, East Riding of Yorkshire. These roads are used as a "rat run" for cars, driving at speed (way over the 20 mph limit), to illegally cut through to avoid the lights. The Police, Parish Council, and ERYC are not interested. There is no policing. We suggest East Riding of Yorkshire Council take action before someone gets killed. Bollards need putting at the end of Kirk Road near Rectory Road end so that residents of Kirk Road have to use the exit near the church and alternatively the residents down Rectory Lane/Ness Lane/Ness Close would use the other exit onto School Road. This would prevent people cutting the lights. As for the waste refuge vehicles getting down the street - If the bollards or posts were collapsible like parking posts this would not cause them any problems if they had the key. Why wait for an accident to happen before you take the residents of Preston seriously and take action?!
