With the prevailing dry spells experienced through out the year the people of in Mwingi Central who depend on the little rains for farming and water for both human and livestock can not stand and watch the damage on the environment which is being caused by uncontrolled cutting down of the surviving trees which are the source of the little rains that is experienced once a year in the name of charcoal burning business.

The long term effects of the uncontrolled charcoal burning activity are dire putting into consideration that there are no plans or programs that has been put in place to oversee the replanting of the forest cover that have been felled down.

The lack of enough rains or availability of adequate water makes it almost next to impossible to replant trees and restore the forest cover, at this rate the District is at a risk of destroying the very source that draws the little rains experienced in the area.
