Name: John Avery on Jan 9, 2013Comments: I have worked in Green Hills for 20 years. They had a big traffic problem before the Hill Center development. Now it is a HUGE traffic problem with no chance of solution. I am not anti business or anti development but there is plenty of other land and/or space on the existing land to keep the density the same as current codes. Please do not grant the requested rezoning.Flag

Name: Charlotte Wallenfang on Jan 9, 2013Comments: The 1-acre density has help cushion Brentwood property values in economic downturns as it continues to maintain Brentwood as a highly desirable place to live. In addition, the schools are already overcrowded with no end in sight as they aren't being built fast enough to accomodate residential construction, and there is little affordable and feasible land available for new school construction in the area. High density apartments will only continue this trend. Traffic on Franklin Rd and Old Hickory Blvd are already so busy, additional housing will only worsen this as well. Secondary roads need to be developed to diversify traffic flow. Infrastructure needs to be more heavily addressed and respect given for the role which existing zoning plays in maintaining the existing high quality of life and desirablility people have come to associate with the City of Brentwood.Flag

Name: George Shwab III on Jan 9, 2013Comments: We moved to Brentwood in 1944 when it was much different than it is now. I was gone several years but returned to live in Brentwood in 1992. It was and is a wonderful place to live with wonderful people. I hope you think long and hard about expanding the Murray Ohio property to 1,000,000 square feet. Traffice has already increased substantially in the last twenty years and with a development of this size will grow geometricially. One of the good things about living in Brentwood is that we can avoid going into Green Hills or Downtown Nashville and do so whenever possible. Thank you for reconsidering the size of this very very large development.Flag

Name: Sandra Daniels on Jan 9, 2013Comments: Of course high density housing adds people who will spend money. However, there is good evidence to show that the need for more schools, teachers, policemen, firemen will cost more than the taxes they bring in. The traffic will increase the noise and air pollution which is a permanent detriment to everybody. High density generally has a higher turnover of population and thus the residents are less invested in the long-term good for all residents. Voting decisions will reflect a short-term perspective. As a percentage of the whole of Brentwood, these residents will have more power per square mile, but will have less invested.Flag
