Comments: Once it's gone, it's gone and we can't go back. The history of this town and nation is "New and Better". There is no "New and Better" when it comes to the Wash. Save it. You can, you know.

Comments: Southern Nevada is not a "wasteland" its location makes it rich in natural and cultural history. As the Las Vegas Valley continues to develop, don't make the irreversible mistakes of other communities that have destroyed their historic locations for future generations in the name of progress.

Comments: We need to preserve this entire area as a Conservation Area for future generations. The Paleontology and Archaeology of the area is extremely important, for what has past may help us to make informed decisions for the future. Please consider your decisions and the impact it will have on our children and their children. A housing development can be built almost any where, a Conervation Area needs to be placed where the evidence of past exists. Thank you.

Comments: The fossils are INVALUABLE in understanding previous life and habitats, which subsequently allow us to understand our present and possibly future environments.......making this area a priority for everyone.

Comments: Please do all you can to protect this historical record. So much has already been destroyed without the chance to be studied. Give the children, and adults, in this area the chance to learn about the environment around them. So much can be done to educate the public about environmental awareness on this matter. There are also huge possibilities to include these areas and their history in the vast tourism industry of the Las Vegas area.

Comments: The Upper Las Vegas Wash needs to be protected as an ecosystem and as a world-class repository of Pleistocene fossils. With fewer acres than the proposed 13,500 acre preserve, there is no chance that the fragile soils and desert plants will be at risk.

Comments: This is a world-renowned site that if preserved as a national conservation area or national monument could bring much more revenue to Clark County in the form of tourism than development ever would. It is time for us to recognize and preserve our unique resources and heritage rather than destroying them just to build more homes and shopping centers. We and many citizens like us will bring everyone who visits us to this site, yet another reason for people to visit the Las Vegas area.
