On the 23rd September 2015 Dad (Noel Garnham) went to work as he did most days. We didn't know that on this day we would receive the news no family ever wants to hear. Dad was on his way back to Dubbo on his last run for the day when the truck he was driving collided with a train at the Tullamore railway crossing on the narromine road in NSW. The family was told at 8.20pm 23/9/15 that Dad's life had been horrifically ended. If the railway crossing had better warning signals and the railway line was not obstructed Dad would still be here today. So let's take a stand and make positive changes to our rural railway crossings across Australia. With my father's recent passing and the government slogan "no one should die on our roads". It's time something got done. We need an extra set of warning lights placed at least 300m before the railway crossing giving truck drivers the required distance needed to stop safely and boom gates placed to make them more visible upon approach. Please sign this petition to get our voices heard and make rural railway crossings across Australia safer to prevent another tragic loss
