People think the number of sharks are increasing because shark attacks are increasing. However, this is not true. More beachgoers wave their surfboards in front of the sharks' faces. The sharks mistake the surfboards as seels, their favorite food. Many sharks also get caught in fishers' nets, although most of the time the fishers do not mean for them to.
