Name: Tracy Ayala on Dec 11, 2002State: TXCountry: USComments: As a mother of three children and a full time college student who looks forward to a career in physical therapy, I resent the stereotypical gender biases that are shown in everyday commercials, television shows, and even radio. I hope that I can help make a difference so that when my daughter is grown women will be treated with the same respect as men in the media and in society.Flag

Name: Rebecca Payne on Jan 8, 2003State: MECountry: USComments: I agree with you 110%!! I work with children and I just had a first grade girl tell me that she doesn't want to be an adult b/c she doesn't want to show her breasts- this is after looking at a pic of Janet Jackson in a too-tight bikini top with her jeans unbuttoned- I told her that she NEVER has to expose her body- she told me that if she wants to be beautiful and have a boyfreind than she has to show her "boobies"- I was outraged at this!! I told her that beauty comes from within and pictures like this do not get you boyfriends! This is a first grade girl! This has to stop!!!!!!!Flag

Name: Cynthia Crane on Jan 31, 2003State: OHCountry: USComments: As a professor, I can say that I see the effects of the media on my female students. I also teach a course about the media in general, and the degrading images of women, in particular. The Ideal Woman is now even computer-generated. It's time that this stops. Consumers need to stop buying products from companies that have only one image of women to offer.Flag

Jewelry would have been the last thing I would have guessed that was being sold. Something must be done for the sake of our future.Flag

I see girls as young as 11 years old who don't eat lunch because they might get "fat". Many of them are just skin and bone. It is high time the media began promoting a realistic and healthy view of what it means to be a woman.Flag
