Did you know that there has been a local professional fisherman gillnetting in Portland Bay Do you know the effects that this type of fishing practice causes The effects are: the indiscriminate destruction of marine life in our Bay, this destruction will lead to the devastation of the local fishing grounds in the Portland Bay and therefore lead to a huge loss of many of our prized fish, snapper, whiting, gummy sharks, pike, yellowtail and even threatens the mighty southern right whale and the diminutive penguin.
