Name: Anna McDonnell on Feb 10, 2010Comments: Well what can I say!!!!! We are in a recession, therefore anything that is a saving to the government is a good thing.... This €15 million saving could go towards reducing our national debt..... I must congratulate this Irish Company on developing such a code and can certainly see the benefits to all concerned.... i.e. couriers, an post, delivery companys etc etcFlag

Name: Cariosa Cullen on Feb 10, 2010Comments: Ask any delivery driver looking for a business in Dublin 15 (where there are no road names) and I'm sure s/he will agree some solution is needed ASAP. Even the poeple working in the factories there have difficulty describing where they are! PONC seems to be a perfectly adequate system and makes sense in so many other ways too, not least of which is saving tax payers money and avoiding unnecessary cost and duplication of work and perhaps risking extra cash and effort just to come up with a less effective system - that would be unforgivable.Flag

Name: Daren Hull on Feb 11, 2010Comments: This can notcome too soon. The introduction of PON codes will benifit so many areas of comerse and every day life. imagine being able to give a courer an accurate address that they can go stright to or a B&B in the country that yoou can drive stright to! This system exsists and is working now, how hard would it be to apply this countrywide. Comon Lads this is a no-brainer, get it done and benifit us all......Flag

Name: David Hally on Feb 11, 2010Comments: The goverment are are cutting the wages of every body with TAXES & LEVIES but don't look at what is already present and tested by GARMIN one of the largest companies in the GPS /Sat nav business. The old saying "Why reinvent the wheel" because that is what the government is doing when PON codes are ready to go.The problem with our government is that if you are not in the pocket of a minister they will spin any story so that their own people will get the contract at huge money to develope and then a cost per year to up keep the system updated that the goverment want to use.Flag
