Janette MarshallHave the doctors been asked what they want?
AnonymousI am totally opposed to the changes proposed to my doctors surgery.
george francethis is a disgusting policy of the government and need to be quashed as soon as possible. We have had the best of service from our local gp surgeries and even more now. Its nice to see your own doctor and confide in them when you need to and not wait around in a surgery for next available doctor who you may never see again . Leave our doctors alone and let them do the professional job that they are trained for.
anthony whelanwe do not want to be seen by someone who has had no previous knowledge of our medical history.it takes years for a g.p. to build up a patient relationship and make you feel at ease.
terence wadehow are the old going to get these so called poly clinics. gp s are about the relationship between doctor and patient this policy will cost lives because no one will trust a strange doctor they have never met

Anonymousi do not agree with polyclinics; i feel it will demolish the continuity of care and personal service that is curently experienced by patients in our smaller practice!! How on earth will that sort of personal service be maintained....?????????

George RivasThe we have received and do receive from our local sugergy at The Chequers in Prestwood (Great Missenden) for rhe last fifty years is and has always been superb. Any changes would be disastrous.

AnonymousI am SO delighted with the treatment and care I receive at my Northampton surgery - The staff from reception to the nurse to the doctors are caring, thoughtful and intelligent and would not have got through depression and diagnosis of diabetes without the support of a local GP clinic. Do you not realise the true value of someone knowing who you are when you need the doctors.
daniel poweronly the prime minister woulde think of such a daft idea,,its ok for him,hes got private medical cover

Neil AldridgeSeeing a single GP has greatly helped me during a long term illness. I dread to think what would have happened under the Polyclinic scheme.

Deborah GeorgeI am a disabled person, with complex health needs. I believe that my needs, and those of others in a similar situation are best met if we are treated by the same drs whenever healthcare is needed. Drs familar with an individuals needs are more likely to be able to provide a responsive, effective service, ultimately at less cost to NHS ressources. Poltclinics will not be able to do this, as patients are unlikely to be able to see the same dr, and will lose continuity of care. For people with complex ongoing needs this may mean that any problems are not identified quickly, sao that patients wait longer for 'solutions, and their care costs more. In addition care that is not local may present problems with transport, and other access issues for many people, inclusing, but not exclusively, those who are disabled. In my opinion, this is a disaster in the making!

sybil ashtonI live in Hornsey and already Hornsey Hospital has been destroyed and the polyclinic well on the way. I filled in a 'consultation' form (shades of post office closures) objecting to it but unfortunately people seem to be persuadedt that it will be more convenient - I don't agree. I am 79 years old and am necessarily less active than I would like to be.

sdtephen carvillethey closed my GP surgery with no consultation and little notice sold the practice to a private company ChilversMcrea "Healthcare" and moved it into Boots Norht street Brighton. written to PCT as yet no answer and saw MP who said its probably too late to do anything about-typical New Labour invertebrate
AnonymousI am not even sure that GP's will actual opere these clinics. From what I have heard so far, they will employ new Doctors, nurses and technicians, employed by the companies that are contracted to supply a service at the lowest cost.

Rachael MillingYet another way to attack rural communities - the school, the Post Office, public transport - the country will be a waste land fit only for developers soon.

Jane GillI agree that polyclinics will threaten smaller GP surgeries. This is a policy which the electorate should be asked about first. There should also be pilot studies.
Valerie HughesOur Doctors provide us with a service second to none and our always willing to be at our disposal. We know where they can be contacted and they give us the benefit of their knowledge which is always personal and friendly. Please reconsider.
AnonymousIf my gps surgery was to close my husband and myself would encounter severe hardship . We are both disabled and live in a small town . We both have complex health problems which our gp knows about . If our gps was to close we would end up having to see someone who did not know us personally

AnonymousI have been a customer of a polyclinic and found it impossible to get an appointment. I chose a sole practictioner deliberately as i can always get an appointment when i need it and the customer care is exceptional. The distance travelled to a polyclinic will also be far more substantial.
Ann RedgraveI work in our local GP practice and we give a very valuable service to the local community. A lot of elderly and infirm people may not be able to travel further. We know most of our patients personally and they value this.
AnonymousI do NOT want to lose my local surgery, nor my own Doctor who has cared for me throughout major and minor illnesses and operations, and in whom I have total trust.
Shirley EagarThe move to a less personal service, probably involving more travel, is extremely undesirable. Claimed public consultation has been restirted and ineefective.

Irene HowardWe really need our local family doctors to remain. They are our personal contact with the medical profession and a point of call who we are familar with and know personally.
Joanne HiltonPlease save our clinics. As a sufferer of a chronic illness I need to have a stable relationship with a doctor who knows me and my problems and not some fly by night doctor who just wants the money.
