Give Leopoldo Rodreguez Tenure at PSU!

Leopoldo Rodriguez\'s teachings are the embodiment of the words that Portland State University uses to market itself: Diverse, Engaged, International, and Sustainable. He is a great professor and we are lucky to have him at Portland State University. We are signing this petition to officially voice our disagreement with the refusal to grant tenure to Leopoldo Rodriguez. This petition will be sent to Dan Bernstine, school president, to Roy Koch, provost and vice president of academic affairs, and to Marvin A. Kaiser, dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Notes on Signing Petition: 1. Please explicitly indicate your affiliation with Portland State University in the comments section. 2. Please refrain from negative comments towards the dean or any other PSU officials. Our goal is to get Professor Rodriguez the tenured position that he deserves, not to condemn anyone for following bureaucratic protocol.

7 years ago Comments: I am a current student of Prof. Rodriguez. He is absolutely one of the best teachers that I have had in my 4yrs of college. I saddens me that PSU cares more about grants than the quality of the instructors. Please reconsider tenuring this great asset to PSU.

8 years ago Comments: I am a economics student at PSU and strongly believe that Professor Rodriguez should be granted tenure. He is dedicated to his work and offers huge value for economics and other students. There are only so many professors that are truly commited and passionate about their work. Letting Rodriguez go would only be a loss for PSU.

8 years ago Comments: I as well disagree with the decision to deny Professor Rodriguez tenure at Portland State University. He is by far one of the most talented professors in any of the departments at PSU, and one whom I credit for reigniting my great love for learning. I respect him wholeheartedly, and truly believe he embodies exactly that which the university strives to achieve: excellence in engagement, diversity, and emphasis on the sustainable and international. I am double-majoring in Economics and International Studies at Portland State University.
