condemn the police atrocity at JU campus

We the undersigned are condemning the brutal police atrocity at Jadavpur University Campus on 9th November '10.On that day police lathi charged on the students who were holding a peaceful demonstration inside the campus against the Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya. The minister came to inaugurate Gandhi Bhavan. The very moment the minister's convoy left the campus police started beating up the demonstrators and the university’s guard also joined hand with the police. Afterward although police officials apologized for the incident but very next day they lodged an FIR against 35 students. The university authority is silent about the whole incident. We condemn this incident and convey our support and solidarity to the ongoing movement in the campus against this brutality.
