The toll plan is officially off the table and I am genuinely overwhelmed by what you all achieved here. I started this because I was frustrated but I never imagined so many people would join in to prove that our roads matter. Thank you for staying loud until they had …
The Board of Directors of Pocono Commuter, Inc. are unanimously against the legislation to implement tolls on I-80 and request that this plan be dropped immediately. We firmly believe that this is not in the best interests of the residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We do understand that money must be allocated to engineer the upgrades and repairs to our infrastructure, however this is not the right way to go about doing it.
We would also request that an explanation be made to the residents of PA to explain how our roads and bridges were allowed to reach the condition they are in today.
We would also request a plan to be developed moving forward to make sure that after our roads and bridges are repaired they are never permitted to deteriorate to this point again where such drastic ideas as implementing tolls on I-80 would be entertained to overcome what we perceive to be a serious lapse of oversight.
Where is the gas tax money going then? someone needs to answer for where our tax dollars have been going all these years before they start charging us again.

My commute is long enough as it is. tolls on 80 will just make everyone avoid the highway and clog up the back roads. bad idea.

Fix the potholes without bleeding us dry. PA taxes are already high enough.
