The Board of Directors of Pocono Commuter, Inc. are unanimously against the legislation to implement tolls on I-80 and request that this plan be dropped immediately. We firmly believe that this is not in the best interests of the residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We do understand that money must be allocated to engineer the upgrades and repairs to our infrastructure, however this is not the right way to go about doing it. We would also request that an explanation be made to the residents of PA to explain how our roads and bridges were allowed to reach the condition they are in today. We would also request a plan to be developed moving forward to make sure that after our roads and bridges are repaired they are never permitted to deteriorate to this point again where such drastic ideas as implementing tolls on I-80 would be entertained to overcome what we perceive to be a serious lapse of oversight.

Amy Rodriguez, United States4 years ago Comments: I say "NO" to tolls! There are way too many of us that live in the Poconos area and work in NYC. They've talked about building commuter trains an nothing is happening. The commute itself is reallly expensive btw gas tolls and wear and tear on car. Create more affordable options for people to commute (other than the Martz buses which is very expensive).
