I am honestly stunned to share that Plusnet has officially committed to rolling out native IPv6 support. This never would have happened without the 129 people who took the time to back this request. Thank you for pushing for a better standard when I honestly thought they might just ignore …

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you took the time to weigh in on this technical issue. While I am just one person looking for a better connection, the technical insight you have shared in the comments has helped me understand the bigger picture so much better.

I am working up to leaving you because I want stable IPv6. I was called by a competitor the other day and all was going well until I asked about IPv6. They will call me when they have it working. Right now I know Sky offer IPv6 locally, in fact I will check on it now...
Please get on with it. I run a pan-European research and education network that has been dual stack for over 10 years.
My work depends on IPv6 usage as we need to connect to a large number of v6 networks. I have to resort to tunneling a v6 /48 to my home connection to accommodate this as Plusnet do not offer this. I will be seeking another provider come January if there is not a roadmap to v6 produced by them in the mean time.
IPv4 has been messing up my Xbox connection for a few years now, I need IPv6 seeing as IPv4 isn't available on Xbox One.
Sky receives award for IPv6 implementation. BT has defined rollout plans. Virgin has IPv6 plans. These all for consumer broadband. I'm feeling very sad that I have no idea what Plusnet is doing - even as business fibre customer.
ffs
Ipv6 is now essential. In general I like Plusnet. However it is now time for ipv6 more and more services rely on it. Could be time to move.

This should and could have been rolled out by all ISPs years ago. Why not? We should have been thinking about switching off IPv4 by now! It will have to happen, so why not be ready for it and spare us the pain of NAT?
