In 2009, in an effort to balance our local government budget, a decision to turn off many of the street lights in Santa Rosa was made. Unfortunately, as well intentioned as this idea was, this ordinance has negatively impacted the quality of life and safety of the residents and non-residents of the area. Moreover, the period for which this light-reduction program was to be in effect, expired in 2012. Therefore, we are respectfully asking the City of Santa Rosa Transit Authority to consider turing the lights back on.
