| 1251 | elaine ewing | I am very interested in seeing the writers/ directors cut of this film. I saw the Clive Barker version and got that feeling that, it was "almost" a great film. I understood the underlying themes even in what was left in the Clive Barker version, but the people that watched with me did not. I believe that was because the Clive Barker version was edited in such a way that we were not connected with the characters enough to care. There was a lot of unresolved relationships and dangling bits. I knew as soon as I saw it that this film was a chopped down version of something better. Since the original version does exist, the viewing public should have the opportunity to see this film in the way it was originally written and filmed. I sincerely believe that there is an audience for films that actually attempt to elevate the genre and I hope Screen Gems will give this one a shot. |
