Mercedes Diaz | It's important for the director to be truly independent, if only to provide us with a varied point of view. The public should not be made to suffer just because the studios and the major media conglomerates want to keep all the profits. The writer and directors, as principal visionaries, should have the right to produce their version of a film, the same way that an author can have a book published. It's not as if these two have had no input into the development of the story--they created your story in the first place. The company would have had nothing to edit in post if these two had not originated the concept in the first place.
Park Dobson | Just another joe, sick of seeing a vision taken away. For ANY reason.
John | This movie blows why the fuck would i want it on DVD. You get my signature. Thats it

Karen Lor raine Johnson | I happen to see this movie last night.

Jeffrey Reddick | As a screenwriter and a horror buff, I am extremely interested in seeing the writer & directors cut of The Plague. I've watched the released version, but would actually buy this version on dvd.
Dan Massey | I have just viewed the commercial version of this film. I felt that there was a rather deep and mature element lurking somewhere in the film; however, scrambled and inconsistent plot elements made this hard to find. The film provides a hint, though, with the repeated images of a copy of John Steinbeck's novel "The Grapes of Wrath." The similarity of some plot elements and film structure to the novel underlined this, but the realization was weak and incomplete in the full film. Let's see the real story that was intended and not this hacked up, inadequately developed, hodgepodge of a kiddy-slasher.

Anonymous | i'm sick and tired of studios ruining great scripts! a bunch of hack businessmen who wouldn't know a good movie if it landed on their head. they are the reason there is nothing worth my time or eleven dollars whenever i'm in the mood to go see a movie.
Matt | Loved the article in Moviemaker. Can't wait to see your movie! Kudos for your persistence, by the way.
Bob Giovanelli |
Atosha Cruz | All films must have a voice that is pure to the concept of its developer. Much like a mother to its child, those who create film want it raised and its success to be the vision that they always had for its concept. To deny the concept is not art, its not business, its opinion and opinion in this, only belongs to the viewer.
Jeremy Francis | This is a gross injustice. Films are the most widespread medium of art that there is. Would we have the great frescoes of DaVinci, Shakespear's sonnetts, or Dvorak's symphonies if someone came along after and hacked them to peices? As a film maker, I agree one hundred percent that the Writer's/ Director's cut should absoutely be relesased.
Kimberlee Harrison | I think it's a shame when big studios undermine someone else's work.
Brando Mc Clure | Bill Butler hi-def transfer on BluRay please!
Anonymous | The current version sucks so bad a revamped one might be better. Can't be any worse. Let's see it.

Alpha Blair | As someone drawn to layered, psychological suspense pieces, I would love to see THE PLAGUE: WRITERS & DIRECTOR'S CUT. I also think it would be educational to compare it with the producer's version--so I would be interested in a DVD containing both.
Anonymous | These guys deserve to get their movie published in its original form and how they originally intended it to be seen.
captundergarments | release the director's cut!!!!!!!

| 1091 | Anonymous | As a struggling screenwriter/ aspiring indie film producer; THIS is the exact reason why I fight for creative control of my projects. Corporations are using their "statistics" to tell US what will entertain WHO; they're affraid we know MORE than they do and they'll be out of a job AND THEY SHOULD BE.
As the current writer's strike PROVES, Corporate Hollywood has no respect for the very people who CREATE their PAYCHECKS, LAVISH HOMES, SPOILED CHILDREN and LUXURY CARS....They will ignore us for as long as we allow them to. SO, I find myself digging in, writing and NOW, producing. It is time for writer's to grab the horns, wrestle the bull, fight fear and doubt and CREATE as we were BORN to do; the ART that inspires HUMANITY..... In the end they will see how WRONG they were...Keep on fighting for the work you believe in and all things become possible... |

Sidse Powell | This is a brillant and beauifully cut film. I'm not a fan of horror films and I loved Hal's cut. I was moved to tears twice because of the intensity and realness of the situation and choices the characters found themselves having to make. It's my hope that Screen Gems will have the good sense to release this cut for all to experience and enjoy.
