| 62 | James Connolly | Mr. Masonberg is a man with great vision and understanding of film. I believe it is truly a disservice to all that the director's cut of the 'The Plague' has not been released. From its conception, this was Hal's film. Breaking apart anyone's vision seems to go against everything we as humans hold most dear to our hearts. Artistic freedom stands alongside of freedom of speech. Why would anyone do such a disservice to another human being? I know the entertainment industry doesn't only cause bloodshed on the silver screen, but can we not begin to make inroads protecting the minds that do in fact entertain our minds and enrich our lives? |
| 63 | Rachelle Escaravage | I believe Hal's movie should be released the way it was initially supposed to be. I think taking someone else's work and appropriating it as their own is unethical and low, even thought this is Hollywood, people have the right to their vision being what they see it as. Just because Clive Barker decided he didn't like the film - in which he obviously didn't really pay attention to - Hal shouldn't have his vision, dream and decade's worth of work thrown down the drain. Producers are producers, but humans are humans. What is more right, paying homage to a job title or a human being? |
| 64 | David Cornelius, eFilmCritic.com | When I first saw The Plague on DVD, I was thrilled to see a serious, mature horror film - so much so that I included it on my list of the best direct-to-video movies of 2006. I have seen the film several times since and enjoy it with each viewing.
So it's startling to learn the backstory behind this project, and how the producers rejected so much of the filmmakers' original intentions. Now knowing what this film could be, I strongly urge Screen Gems to consider releasing the Writers/Directors Cut.
From a purely business aspect, consider this: such a release would breathe new life into a film that has essentially worn out its revenue options. Curiosity spread among horror fans alone would make a DVD release viable, breathing new life into this project.
Thank ou for your consideration. |

| 77 | Blake Randel | Please let The Writers & Director's Cut of The Plague be released. The original film started off doing alright, but ended up horribly. My friends and I would all love to see what these creators originally intended to be released. Please, release this new (original) version of The Plague. |

| 84 | keith miller | Fuck studio whores. there needs to be some laws governing artist integrity so this type of thing never happens again. Studios rape a movie to death and then when it tanks the poor s.o.b. who put his lifeblood into it takes all the blame right in the ass. take em down guys.
accion mutante!!!! |
| 85 | Jacob Paplham | I'd definitely pick up a copy of the director's cut of The Plague. I thought the current version on DVD had potential, and hopefully that potential will be fully realized in this cut. Why can't the producers leave the director's vision of the film alone? That's why he was hired, right? Beacause of his vision regarding the film? WTF???!!!! |
| 86 | Mark Eustace | Studios do not make films; the director and his/her team do. Regardless of the finished result; the original finished product is what audiences should see and judge for themselves. THAT'S WHAT ART IS. |

| 90 | Anonymous | Please release this truly artistic vision of an inspired work by Clive Barker. The current Producer's Cut is confusing and aimless, the artists involved and Mr. Barker deserve better. |
