Starband has helped our little girl - but cost so much money. Surely there should be some funding available for this helmet that DOES help? |
| 2010 | julie | dixon | | UK | my son wore a helmet for 6mths, what a fight I had eventually I put a complaint in to my doctors and since we have worked together to organise a leaflet. Also in April we will be meeting with the helmet group I have set up to take a stand re funding, get press coverage etc hopefully. |

| 2013 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | UK | Hi,
This site is very helpful. Hope this petition will be recognised, and attitudes from GPs, HVs etc regarding plagiocephaly will change for the better.
All the best. |

| 2017 | SHELLEY | BOWYER | | UK | I'm really annoyed that I have had to discover about this condition via the tamba website. My Health visitor made a comment at my youngest son's 8 week check, but has done nothing, and now I am going to have to battle with the NHS to get his condition rectified. He is now nearly 5 months old, and if I had been advised of positioning him from day one, we would have done it. More must be done to make health care officials aware of this condition. |

| 2037 | Julie | Avery | CO | US | My child has plagiocephaly from sleeping on his back. Originally I was sleeping my child side to side alternate in the rolls and was told off by my pedetrician and told to place my child on his back - i since went in several times concerned about the back of the head flattening told not to worry continue to sleep child on back. Child now 4 1/2 months with severe flat spot entire back of head flat. comments are that it will round out continue to sleep child on back - this is not acceptable advise. I want the helmet am prepared to pay for it out of pocket but finding it difficult to get a prescription off a doctor. |

| 2042 | Heather | Simpson | | UK | my son not gettin treated on the nhs for this condition is rediculous and the way in which so called specialists laugh it off and told me just to let my childs hair grow long to hide his deformity is a disgrace. i recieved no warning of this condition ,even after several trips to my g.p.'s in which i raised concerns over my childs abnormal headshape and only found out about plagiocephaly after doing my own research via the internet.when i confronted my g.p. with this information and my own self diagnosis, she seemed lost and embaressed and knew next to nothing about the condition.this i find totally unaccectable from someone in her position of trust. |
