20 years too long! It is illegal in Miami-Dade County to own or keep American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, or any other dog that substantially conforms to any of these breeds' characteristics.  

To determine if a dog substantially conforms to these standards, animal control uses a chart that lists 15 body parts such as “head”, “neck”, “lips”, “chest”, “eyes”, “tail”, “hind legs”, etc. The officer places a check mark to indicate whether each characteristic conforms or not to a pit bull. If 3 or more characteristics are checked “conform”, the dog is declared a pit bull.  

Hundreds if not thousands of innocent pitbulls are euthanized by the day because of people that train these sweet animals to fight. They are not born with the insticts of fighting, it is the fault of the "dog fight" owners.

 There are thousands of pitbulls running around living their lives joyfully, any many of them are even therapy dogs. Why is it that Miami Dade politicians cant open their eyes and allow the breed to continue their lives here with us in Miami Dade.

DONT PUNISH THE BREED, PUNISH THE BREEDERS!

There should be a ban on people that fight the dogs rather than the dogs them selves. Send the owners away to another county rather than euthanizing another dog whether years or weeks old.

 STOP KILLING PITBULL's AND PITBULL MIXED DOGS!!
