Pink is of legal drinking age, & she was at a party, So it was her privedge to drink where & when she wanted. Kids make their own choices to drink, & being a parent of 3, I believe it is up to the parents to make the example, & not up to a star to.Flag

If your going to point fingers then where are the fingers at Britney Spears, Nsync member Justin Timberlake, BSB member Nick Carter and Christine Agueleria All these performers have had drinks when they weren't 21 and some are still not 21 yet. If your going to blame a 23yr old then why not the ones who are in their 20s and why not the bars who let them drink.Flag

Name: Gena Rodriguez on Sep 9, 2002State: CACountry: USComments: How many times are we going to tell the artists that they have to be responsible for the rest of the world Growing up I have listened to Janice Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald, Elvis, Aerosmith and a host of other artists who at one time or another had problems with alcohol or drugs. I did not turn out to be a drinker or drug user. Why My parents had a great deal to do with it. They taught me that I have to take care of myself and my health and that means looking out for drugs and alcohol. We all make mistakes, but to blame Pink as one of the people that are responsible to get kids hooked on drinking is wrong. Look closer to home and you will find many more worthy candidates then PinkFlag

Name: Ginger Ammon on Sep 9, 2002State: CACountry: USComments: If anyone's irresponsible here, it's you. Pink is of legal age to drink. If she feels like announcing that she's drunk, that's her choice. How irresponsible is it of you to suggest that Pink (or other celebrities who drink) is in some way responsible for rape! If they were emulating pink, why did this happen on the way to the awards show (before Pink made her speech) Why are the idiots who raped the girls not responsible for their actions Oh wait, Pink made the girls drunk, so it's THEIR fauolt they got raped, and because it's Pink's fault they got drunk, it;s really HER fault, not the rapists'. Wow. I think I'm going to go get drunk now since I listen to Pink's music. Oh wait, no I'm not. I don't drink because celebrities drink. But hey, I'm sure you've done tons of research on this and aren't just talking out of your ass.Flag

It is unfair and delusive to expect ANYONE let alone a popular entertainer to always do the PERFECT thing. To do so is a form of idol-worship, which is condemned by Allah Himself. If the writer of this New York Post article about P!NK, or anyone else, seeks perfection in human form, let them instead submit to Allah and worship Her, the only One who is Perfect.Flag

If that were true, then britney spears would be just as guilty of causing 'poor, feeble-minded men' to rape, as well as molest small children & teenagers. Maybe it was a slow news week for you, but I would really hope that the people who control the media would blacklist you for being such a moron.Flag

Next time you see a "phony poser" that disturbs you, change your channel and leave America out of it. If you want to blame anyone, blame your television service provider, your mother, or yourself. America will hear none of it.Flag

Name: John Bridell on Sep 10, 2002State:Country:Comments: As a chemical dependency worker of nearly 4 years and a recovering alcoholic/drug addict, I am shocked at the irresponsible comments made by this so-called journalist regarding Pink. First off this person is entitled to there opinion about Pink and the MTV video awards, I have no comment on this. But placing blame for alcohol abuse and sexual misconduct on the remarks of an individual on a TV awards show illustrates a fundamental lack of knowledge and responsibility on the part of this person. People must take responsibility for there own actions. Pink is 23 and has a right to drink if she chooses. To blame her for teenage drinking or worse for sexual misconduct against young women is deplorable, irresponsible and an indication that this writer is an uninformed hack, making up for her obvious lack of ideas by jumping on a tired old bandwagon of blaming entertainers for societies woes. Such drivel speaks for itself and it is regrettable that such rubbish passes for journalism these days.Flag

Name: Lu H on Sep 10, 2002State:Country: DEComments: Maybe he should rethink his argument for young girls and also boys starting to drink. Young people in other countries don't start that either just cause someone they see on TV and like the music of does that. Maybe the reason for it is the tight-up-your-ass conservative US-American attitude towards... hmm, let me think... towards like EVERYTHING!!!! And it doesn't help to make a law that forbids alcohol until reaching the age of 21. I am 17 and allowed to drink and I also saw the VMA's, but did I go out after seeing Pink and get drunk No...strange. I kinda should have. *shrug* And if he really is convinced that Americans are THAT gullible and dumb, he shouldn't blame stars for it but the american school-system and above all the party responsible for it!!! So he shouldn't walk around pointing fingers blindly, but rather think about the REAL reasons like battered families and an absolutely horrible school-system that leaves people more unknowing than they were before entering. But hey, maybe he's an employee of the state and they hired him to distract from the causes (of teens drinking) lying with the politics rather than with famous people. Maybe the government tries to keep their people uneducated, so that they won't start criticizing them and start using their own intelligence. Maybe they try to divert from their own guilt in keeping the country too conservative so that the youth tries to escape that fucked up world by the use of alcohol. Just my humble opinion and insult meant to that fabulous writer. And just a little tip: Why don't you try switching on your brain for once and think about the real reasons and not just throw together some borrowed statistics and medical facts about youth and alcohol and bend those into shape to fit into your narrow-minded pathetic worldview I'm sorry to be so insulting but I hate guys writing lies and half-truths to get attention. Furthermore excuse my spelling and grammar, since I'm not a native of an english-speaking country.Flag

Name: Dana Dean on Sep 10, 2002State:Country:Comments: First of all, your assumption that no one over 21 listens to P!nk's music shows how little you know. Secondly, I agree that people need to show more restraint and drink less. I would hope that P!nk herself will mellow out and party less for her own health's sake. However, it is not her responsibility to keep teenagers from drinking and doing stupid things like going with boys they don't know to bars and then getting raped. What ever happened to PARENTS who are involved in their children's lives and try to teach them to act responsibly What ever happened to personal responsibility Perhaps if we spent more time in this country trying to do good instead of constantly looking for negative things to say about everyone and everything, we might be able to change things. Articles like this will only spur young P!nk fans to hate you and think that everything you say is crap because of the things you got so obviously wrong.Flag

Name: Andy Bird on Sep 10, 2002State:Country: UKComments: How dare you accuse Pink of being the reason kids are getting drunk. I think that if you had just won 2 moon awards - youd have a lil drink to celebrate!! I cant recall one pop star that has never been seen drinking alcohol, so y blame pink! I didnt see her stand on stage and say 'come on kids ... lets all get pissed together. Oh and another thing - How do you know that no one over the age of 21 listens to her - she has a huge fanbase of people from all ages, races, and sex. I understand you have to make a point about teenage drinking but there was no way you should of singled out Pink, and even less of a reason to comment on the four girls being raped - You made it sound like it was pinks fault! In your article the issue should have been about about 'underage girls drinking ilegally in local bars'. You had better write a retraction and hope she doesnt sue ya.Flag
