This petition is to terminate the non-profit organization of the Pillings Pond Association, Inc.

The purpose of the association was to address the deteriorating condition of Pillings Pond. Not only were the 125 homes abutting the pond being affected, the wildlife was also suffering.   Algae, weeds and other invasive plants were creating a dreadful odor.  Dead fish were floating and the health of the pond was in danger.

We were able to work with Town Conservation to get proper treatment and the pond is now cleaner and healthier.  Town Conservation has taken control of keeping the treatment in place.

The association has been inactive for the last five years due to a large drop in membership.

Most original members have either moved or passed away and there has been no new member interest now that the town has taken control of treatment.

We would like to donate the money left in our treasury to the Town to help pay for future treatment in order to maintain the pond.
