We, the parents, businesses, churches, community and political leaders, and all residents of Philadelphia petition the School Reform Commission for the following: 1. A commitment for full parental educational choices 2. An immediate release (without conditions) of the student enrollment cap on charter schools so that thousands of parents that choose to send their children to charter schools will be able to do so. 3. An immediate increase of the neighborhood and community-based independent charter schools across the city of Philadelphia, to further support the thousands of parents fighting to get their children into charter schools, as originally intended by the Pennsylvania State Legislature and supported by President Barack Obama. Note: The neighborhood and community based independent charter school is distinguished from the traditional public school, reconstituted, EMO national corporate charter school takeover or makeover.
