Do you know these about foam cups? • Toxic chemicals leach out of these products into hot water that they contain. • It’s made of petroleum, a non-sustainable, heavily polluting and disappearing commodity. • The product is not biodegradable. • When dumped in the environment, as litter it breaks up into pieces that choke and clog animal digestive systems in waterways. • The product takes up more space in landfills than paper. We, the undersigned, being ADA family, have noticed the excessive use of foam cups on campus, it’s literally everywhere, and we want your help in reducing this unseen time bomb. We regard foam cups as threat to beauty and sustainability of the environment. We need to encourage recycling and sustainability of the environment, while thinking globally, let’s act locally by phasing out foam cups to make our institution environment friendly and embrace mugs, and water bottles!
