Louisiana Legislators are breaking the law!  Their actions are systemically violating the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), and Olmstead by failing “to guarantee individuals with disabilities the RIGHT to live in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.”

Louisiana Legislators are standing in the way of progress.  They are stopping the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) from implementing a 5 year plan that will result in cost savings to the state.  For political reasons our legislators continue to fund high cost institutional services WHILE over 9,400 individuals with disabilities who are in desperate need of services WAIT on a WAITING list and receive NOTHING.

Louisiana Legislators are destroying community based providers and their capacity to serve people with disabilities.  By July 1st, Legislators will have issued FOUR rounds of cuts to community based providers within an 18 month period.  These actions are systematically crippling community based services.

Louisiana Legislators are destroying HOPE to the thousands who WAIT for services by their FAILURE to show true leadership in times of fiscal hardship.

Louisiana Legislators should COMPLY WITH THE LAW, ALLOW DHH to move forward with their plan to spend money more efficiently, and RESTORE cuts to community based providers.

Please show your support for individuals with disabilities and their effort to secure the services they need in the community by signing your name below.
