As you all have heard there will be an “UNLEASHED” by Petco opening in our Claremont community soon, (where the Home Pet Center use to be). Originally Petco was said to be a store that would only sell dog food and as time went by we had found out petco now will be carrying all things pet related, not to mention having vet clinics, grooming and boarding all in one store. As a community store how did the city expect every other small independently owned business to survive? As we have seen in the past where these so-called Walmart type stores swoop into a small community that was built on settlers and free enterprise for many years and basically, blindly end up robbing these stores by undercutting them in ever way. We are trying our hardest to keep the conglomerates away from our family owned businesses. When this store comes into effect a lot of our small owned pet business will take fall and struggle to stay a float. We should stick together and support our small community businesses, our mom and pop stores so that the conglomerates will stay away. Please help and sign this petition so that we can keep our community businesses alive.
