Name: Koran Weston on Dec 6, 2006Comments: I do not believe pet stores should sell puppies and kittens from puppy mills and backyard breeders. Please stop selling these animals! There are millions of homeless animals out there you could put up for adoption in your stores. Until then, I will have to boycott your store.Flag

Name: Andrea Houlden on Dec 7, 2006Comments: it is high time that puppies and kittens stopped being sold in any pet store. It is a disgusting practice and only encourages the backyard breeders to cash in on a quick buck. Money should never be the motivation for breeding dogs.Flag

Name: Ashley Lundy on Dec 8, 2006Comments: As a pet products retailer, there is lots of money to be made in your industry. By selling "breeder" and puppy mill animals, you give your brand a bad name and I will certainly advise everyone I know to stay out of your stores until that changes.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 12, 2006Comments: It disgusts me that in this modern day and age, Petland still buys from commercial kennels, aka: PUPPYMILLS. These dogs live in deplorable conditions and if anyone in the Petland operations had a heart or even a conscience they would get their noses out of their butts and stop supporting these puppymills and commercial breeders. But, what can you expect from a greedy company that sees no problem with selling a sick, mixed breed (but marketed as a "designer breed"), 6-week old pup for $1500 to an unknowing consumer....Flag

Name: Anne Springer on Dec 15, 2006Comments: This chain has been perpetuating puppy mills for years, and lying to public by saying that it buys from reputable "breeders", when no reputable breeder would ever sell their puppies through a pet store, or keep breeding females in cages, row upon depressing row. Their greed is unimaginable, and how any humane person could either work there, purchase from them, or turn a blind eye to the plight of the dogs, is beyond me. Read about "puppy mills" and you will never even walk through Petland's doors for so much as a dog biscuit.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 28, 2006Comments: I totally agree that no retail pet stores should sell anything other than pet supplies!! These poor animals deserve better, & to sell the animals at such high costs with no papers is absolutly criminal! When I was a little girl my dad bought me the cutest little pom from one of these stores, she to had distemper & was very sick! We caught it in time but she also had another condition where her brain would often swell & she would had seisures all the time! She died on the operating table after she couldn't come out of this last spell she had. I was devastated! After that we learned to never buy from any stores, only directly from a breeder. Which are cheaper to buy from!Flag
