Petition to the Saint John Vianney Administration
After thanksgiving break, SJV moved over to the winter uniform which required the students to wear the button down Oxford. First off, the Oxford is a much thinner material then the polo’s, and thus fails to keep students adequately warm. Secondly, the Oxfords do not fit the girls properly, and create an unkempt appearance that reflects poorly on the school. This failure to fit the students correctly also makes it more difficult to keep tucked in, which gives students an unnecessary fear of it coming undone and violating the school’s dress code. Therefore, by making the polo’s an all year uniform you would not only be bringing peace of mind to the students, but would also make SJV a more pleasant environment to learn in. I personally and many of the students of SJV feel the same way about the Oxfords, and would like the polo's to become an all year uniform.
