What Does America Want?

(A) Legislation that recognizes America's oil resources as a national resource and, in essence, the property of all US Citizens. This legislation is not intended to preclude land owners of oil properties from their royalities. It is intended to stop oil companies from exporting American oil and oil byproducts. T. Boone Pickens states, "oil companies are exporting in excess of 600,000 barrels of US oil and 400,000 gallons of gasoline per day". Oil companies state they don't have enough refinery capacity to produce more gasoline, but they have enough to export it.

(B) T. Boone Pickens stated that, "several months ago, US oil companies are exporting US oil for $70 per barrel and importing OPEC oil for $90 per barrel; now that's B.S. They've got us coming and going. There is no limit to their greed".

(C) Curtail Wall Street speculator actions and profits. ($15.65 profit per barrel is obscene. Is there collusion between speculators and oil companies in oil pricing?)

(D) By using this nations oil resources, there is no reason to keep US military personnel in OPEC nations. The American military's mission is to protect this country; not OPEC oil. Bring our troops home. When is the last time you have seen an oil speculator "millionaire", "wall streeter", oil company executive, and/or the "one-percentor", put on a uniform to protect their investment? These individuals don't care what gasoline costs; they can afford it.

(E) This correspondence is not meant to be political. This correspondence it is meant to inform our legilsative bodies to do what is right and fair for all American Citizens; not just for a chosen few. There may be an alternate fuel source in the future but for now, we need lower priced oil and oil byproducts.

What Can You Do?

I am making 50 copies of this petition to send to the following: family, friends, senate and congressional representatives, newspapers, TV networks and a copy for the President of the United States. Attached,  you will find a petition signature sheet. I am asking for each person who signs to contribute $1.00 to help with printing and mailing costs. If we don't take the time to address this situation, we shouldn't complain about gas prices and their effect on other production areas.
