Name: Paul E. Campbell on Jan 3, 2013Comments: I strongly feel the proposed change to an antler-less only early bow season is certain to have a reverse effect to your desired goal of an increase in antlerless deer harvests. This is certain to cause most bow hunters to lose interest and simply wait till the full fall bow opener. I as a bow hunter will have a hard time finding a reason to hunt in the heat, humidity, and insect laden early season of September if these changes are adopted. I hunt several properties in zones open to the early bow season and look forward to hunting the early season for the opportunity to possibly harvest a velvet summer coat buck. As it stands now, we have nearly 6 months of deer seasons to harvest unlimited antler-less deer in these very zones, we only have a small window of a couple weeks in the early season to possibly harvest a velvet summer coated buck. Based on the fact that bow hunters are only allowed to harvest one antlered buck for the entirety of the early and fall bow season, what is the difference to the state if we harvest that one antlered buck in the beginning of September or in the middle of October, we’re still only allowed the one antlered buck, at least with Ear-a-buck in place it encouraging more hunters to actually go out and hunt the early season and harvest that antler-less for the change at a antlered buck still in velvet.Flag

The proposed change to the early fall archery season could very well result in reduced deer harvest in areas where population reduction is sorely needed. Please do not change the early fall archery season.Flag

Name: Michael Mascenik on Jan 3, 2013Comments: if people are required to take a doe 1st then your removing more of the heard. otherwise I will sit in the air conditioning, why else would I torture myself in the heat getting bitten up. do whats right for the deer, not for your pockets (overall in general). I can barely afford to hunt on what I make as it is... NOT FAIR I cant even afford to hunt with friends because I cant afford the permit(s)/zones. Disgusted in general and go 3 pts or better like other states!Flag

Name: Antonio Bretones on Jan 3, 2013Comments: If this law passes for the 2013 easrly bow season I will not be bow hunting strictly for doe. I will start to hunt when the regular season starts and the EAB if off. The archers of NJ have always carry the burden of balancing the deer herd by EAB. Leave it as it and the NJ archers will continue to do what the gun hunter don't which is to keep the doe in check.Flag

Name: William Jimeno on Jan 3, 2013Comments: I along with many other bowhunters do our part in doe management and I take various others to take does as well. I feel that on top of the many $$ I spend on permits to support the Division of fish and game and enjoy the sport of bowhunting. This new proposal does not make any sense and I for one am against it. I feel that the early bow season has been a benefit and even after I take a buck I still take does and take others to do the same. I hope this proposal will not be passed. I for one will not then shoot does in early season or take others to do so if this passes. Thank you.Flag

Name: Gerry DuMont on Jan 3, 2013Comments: Please don't make early season doe only. This is one of my most successful times for big bucks. If the sept. season is antlerless only I for one will not even participate. It seems like the real bowhunters are getting shortchanged already. You have allowed crossbows in for the entire archery season, early muzzleloader days, three shotgun doe days, all during the rut. Don't take more away from us,remember we already pay more for our license' even though very few bowhunters hunt small game or anything but deer.Flag
