The NEIU Parking Facility is designed to help students, particularly with parking. However, The current system for registering your vehicle does not support Safari, the default server of Apple products. Being that many students have Apple products or use the ones provided on campus NEIU has a duty to allow their various web pages to support the servers they provide students with. To not ensure that this is possible is not only an inconvenience to students but also a failure to provide the students with the best academic experience possible. Furthermore, the NEIU Parking Appeals process does not take into consideration that students have classes and may not be able to attend their appeals hearing. Being that once the appeals committee sets a nonadjustable date this forces students to pay fines that may be unjust since they are unable to attend the hearing. This type of action by NEIU Parking Facility does not support Northeastern Illinois University’s Statement of Values section on Integrity that states as follows: “NEIU is accountable to those we serve and to those from whom we receive support. We are committed to honesty, respect, and transparency in our words and our actions. In that regard, we work to be good stewards of the resources we are entrusted to use. This includes human, physical, fiscal, and environmental resources.”
