Gary Engelman is a 45 y.o. RN. He is the single father of 2 wonderful children and he became ill 3 months after his brother was sadly Misdiagnosed when in fact, he had Lung Cancer. Gary developed Neurological Problems over the years that have progressed to a life threatening point, such that, if something isn't done soon, he could have a massive stroke and die.

Because Gary's symptoms began so close to his brothers death, the medical people at Jonhs Hopkins believed his symptoms were from Depression only. Nevertheless, they sent him for multiple MRI's over the years that were read Normal and Unremarkable. Gary continued to deteriorated in his health and took it upon himself to learn how to read MRI's so that he could possibly find something that was being missed by his Hopkins doctors.

After a year of self training, Gary saw that he had a Left Vertebral Artery in his head pushing on his Brainstem. Because this Artery has been pushing on the brainstem for so long, the tissue has shifted in his brain such that the entire brain stem is being twisted and contorqued and is now about 95% shifted into the Right side of his brain compared to a 50/50 % Right and Left equal distribution of the brain stem tissue back on the 2009 MRI.

Gary's condition is called Lateral Medullary Syndrome (Wallenberg Syndrome) and the condition of the artery itself is called (Dolichoectasia).

The Problem: Gary's Dr.'s missed the findings on the MRI and now their Egos stand in the way to even recognize the above condition. Surgical intervention is required to get the artery off of the brainstem and Gary has an 80% chance of a full recovery with no residual symptoms. The surgery Gary needs is called Microvascular decompression surgery. This surgery is a surgery that is performed by Johns Hopkins Hospital, but until the doctors put their self esteem "god" complex aside and admit they were wrong, Gary will continue to suffer, his health will continue to decline, and ultimately, he will more than likely have a massive stroke leaving him permanently neurologically impaired or dead.
